I wonder how much time has been wasted by focusing on the parents, too. It really makes me angry that someone is getting away with abducting a little girl.
BTW - I see in this morning's paper that the McCanns have agreed to do a lie detector test, although it isn't admissible in a court of law.

I don't hate the McCanns at all. I don't wish to see them found guilty either. The only thing that I wish is to find out the truth of what happened to Maddy and see the person(s) who are responsible be punished. That's it, period. I just suspect the McCanns, that is all. As with any crime that is reported in the news, I look at all that is being presented to me and I form an opinion or gut feeling. I may be right and I may be wrong. I am not going to say that the McCanns are 100% guilty, that would be for a jury to decide. All I am saying is that, in my opinion, the McCanns are acting strangely. Their behavior is odd, their stories are always changing, they have come up with some ridiculous excuses as to how certain evidence came to be, and so on. The fact that they vowed never to leave Portugal without Maddy, but did a complete about-face when they were made suspects. Hiring PR managers, visting the pope, and so forth. How have those things helped find Madeleine? They haven't. What are you basing your support of their innocence on? What "significant evidence" has come forward to support the abduction theory? The only people who have ever said that Maddy was abducted were the McCanns and their friends. The police stated that it did not look like an abduction. I felt very bad for the Mccanns at first, I believed their story and my heart just ached for them. And I felt that way for 2-3months, till I observed their odd behavior. Then I started to wonder, maybe they had something to do with it? I don't feel any anomosity towards the Mccann supporters either. You have your reasons for believing them, just as I have my reasons for doubting them. How is one any different from the other? It seems the opinion on here is, if you suspect the Mccanns you are wrong and you are a cruel, heartless person, who gets delight out of seeing people convicted of murder. If you are for the Mccanns, then you are right and just a wonderful, caring person. Why should people who suspect the parents of wrong doing come on here and apologize if it turns out they were wrong? They had a gut feeling and it turned out to be wrong. Have you never felt a certain way about something or somone and then been proved wrong? How is suspecting the Mccanns of wrong doing, then finding out that they were innocent any different than supporting them, then finding out that they were involved? With any crime, there are going to be different opinions and in the end someone is going to be right and someone is going to be wrong. My friends and I always discuss current events/crimes and offer our opinions and sometimes we disagree. No matter what the outcome of a case may be, my friends and I don't go to each other and say, "ha, ha, you were wrong, now I demand an apology!!" Differences of opinion and debate is what makes this world such an interesting place. Would you want everyone in the world to have the exact same opinion? This Mccann case has just sparked people's interest, it is a mystery and it is only natural for people to speculate and try to develop a theory of what happened. As far as searching for Madeleine goes, the police only recently made Kate and Gerry suspects and up until that point they were looking for Maddy alive, the Mccanns said that themselves. You are demanding that people and the police invest all the time they can looking for Madeleine, what are Kate & Gerry doing to look for Madeleine? She is certaintly not going to just come walking through the front door of their home in Rothley. So why are they there? For the twins, they say, but seriously I don't see how they could just sit at home in the UK when their child is missing. I have three children as well, and I know that if one of my kids was missing, I know I would have to maintain a "normal life" for my other two kids. But, regardless, I could still not just sit back and let the police and the general public look for my child. I would have to physically do something. They are making the armbands and the t-shirts and such, but it has done nothing and the amount in the fund never changes. So are they using the money to find Maddy or not? Who knows? If they were using the money, wouldn't the amount change? In the end, I suspect them and you don't, we differ in our opinions. I respect your opinion and I just ask that you also respect mine. If I am proved wrong, which I hope I am, then I will say" wow, I was wrong and thank goodness I was!" I don't want it to be that the Mccanns killed her, I just suspect them that is all. If it turns out that they are guilty and I was right, I will be equally as sad. And I would still feel bad for them even if they are guilty. If something happened accidentally and they panicked and they made a bad decision, my heart will still ache for them. Because even if they are guilty, I still feel bad for them that they have to live with that tremendous guilt for the rest of their lives and that they also have to live out their lives without their beautiful daughter, Madeleine. Abduction or accident by the parents, neither one is a happy ending and an innocent little child was the victim. So sad.

Unless I've missed something, nothing has actually been proved yet, so how do you know she's been abducted? I really hate it when people state their opinions as facts.

Sorry, I fell asleep, were you saying something?
I think several people have posted this before you, is it a chain letter?
(Apparently 60% of Portugal reckon they did it - why don't you ask them?)
