Ryan Howard is not a condidate.......Chase Utley is the player that would actually take his spot, especially with Howards slump but that goes to show how good he is when he's playing like he should be....he has better stats than half the majors and is a few strikeouts away from a new record...but anyway, hands down Jimmy Rollins......he's an amazing offensive and defensive player who has rediculous stats right now....he's a couple of triples and homers away from a 30-20-30-30 season. Next in line is either Matt Holiday or Prince Fielder, and if i had to stick another name in there i'd put Aaron Rowand.....b/c the guy is an awesome offensive player, and can catch like a maniac in the outfield

David Wright should win it. Compare his numbers with Holliday's. They're about even offensively when you consider their home parks, even with the humidor effect in Colorado. But Wright is a third baseman, and a good one. Holilday's a decent enough left-fielder, but there's no way his defensive value is as big as Wright's.
I also think Wright will win it. He's the only one of the top guys whose team is going to the playoffs. Eric Byrnes is probably having the second best season for a player on a playoff-bound team, and he's definitely not going to win the MVP. The writers like RBIs and players on winning teams. Wright gives you both.

it's either Matt Holliday or Ryan Howard because the really gave their teams a chance
sadly, Rollins will be run over by Howard in MVP voting
Wright's Mets are collapsing, which will kill his chances
and the Brewers have collapsed, ruining Fielder's chances

If the Phillies make the playoffs, Rollins is gonna win it. He carried the team for a month while Utley was out and has been a huge factor in keeping them in contention for the postseason. If Philly doesn't make the playoffs, David Wright takes the MVP.

both MVPs were great choices, and deserve to win. But Unanimous for Pujols. I actually thought it would have been a bit closer between him and Howard/Fielder. They both heated up a lot at the end. But It still would have been impossible to pick anyone better and more deserving the Mauer and Pujols.

My picks would be Holliday, Wright, Fielder in that order but I really believe they will give it to Fielder.
