to the kid who said hed take the starter in clay bucholz over the reliever in Joba...Joba is a starter.
Id personally take Joba. In his relief appearences hes kept to throwing his 100 mph fastballs and his sliders that have hit in the 90s, but Chamberlin hasnt thrown half the pitches in his repertoire he reportedly has 4 pitches including a devestating curveball that hes rarely thrown so far.
Though I will give Clay Bucholz his props throwing a no hitter in your rookie season is impressive. He was great in his second start last week in Toronto where he had a no hitter through five.
Right now its hard to compare since they are in such different roles. One thing it shows is that even with the new turn overs in team the yankee red sox rivalry and debate will stay competitive

Joba Chamberlain is a far superior pitcher that Bucholz. Don't let the no-hitter fool you. When looking at the big picture a no-hitter is nice but it's just one game, one win. Chamberlain has the tools to be great. Just remember, even the great Steve Carlton never threw a no-hitter.

Once a Yankee always a Yankee....sorry too subjective on this I would take Chamberlain but I have to say that Bucholz is truly something special as well and will add to the "Red Sox-Yankee " stories in the future along with Chamberlain....remember these times, for I feel we will go back someday to remember when they came up....really two great future pitchers!

Joba should be a stud for years to come, he has made me a believer. School is still out on Bucholz, maybe or maybe not.

I will take Joba, pitchers that have gone through the college season have turned out better in the majors than pitchers that come from high school.

i don't think of it become suited to droop him without warning from the ump. The ump for sure did not suspect foul play after the 1st pitch.. (a minimum of not sufficient to warn Joba and the Yankees) and then Joba gets ejected?? And now a suspension??
