No, I think eliminating chicken was a mistake. He offered his opinion but no one wanted to listen. Then when asked, he was being agreeable. I think he wanted to help without stepping on any toes...
He sure scared them when he was voted off...I liked how they all jumped when he screamed "damn"....lol

Given that it was Chicken or Ashley I was very happy to see Chicken go. Ashley was really trying to get people to work on the shelter the first day. She was sick the second that is why she didn't do much. Ashley is physically fit which can be very helpful in the competitions. She is also very social. Chicken was not social enough given the other members of the tribe. The first couple of tribal councils there isn't a lot to base a vote on so many vote socially meaning that they vote out someone who isn't as social as the others. Chicken wasn't that social and it ruined his chance to win the game.

I liked how there were only two tribes. The tribes weren't divided around some strange social expiriment this year like in the past. No young versus old or rich versus poor. And the tribe selections were already made, so there was no high school gym class-style selection of the teams. I also appreciated that they were provided rice, and the team that went to tribal council was provided with fire. There won't be any of the prolonged suffering that there was last season with the "have-not" tribe.
Chicken did not fit in. He was 10 years older than the next oldest male, Dave. He also played a lousy social game. He was too forceful at the beginning about how he thought the shelter should be made. When his ideas were rebuffed, his feelings were hurt, but later on, when his opinions were actually wanted by P.G., he passive-aggressively would not offer them. If he had played the game better, he would have shook off the earlier rejections of his opinions and started offering them when they were actually needed.
Ashley seemed to be suffering from stomach flu. She was in a strange environment, and she may have eaten a bad eggroll at a Chinese train station cafe. It looks like they had a long journey before they even made it to game site. I have suffered from stomach flu before, so I know how debilitating it can be. She performed okay at the immunity challenge, and her strength will come in handy in future competitions. So from a competition standpoint, Ashley was just more useful.

I'll have to disagree. Ashley did nothing since she was sick. The first day, she really tried to get people to help her build a shelter, but Chicken refused to give his opinion and work with the group. I guess he just didn't fit in with his tribe. I would have liked to see more of him, but not if it meant Ashley would have gone home instead. I would have liked to see P.G. (not sure how to spell her name) go. She was too serious and bossy.

Ashley will be gone soon. Chicken wasn't very nice so he was done. Part of Survivor is people skills which he had none. I like James the gravedigger so far. He works hard. And I can't stand the snobby waitress from NY. I hope she's gone soon.

I'm glad Chicken was voted out... he might have the knowledge to make it in the wild-life, but due the kind of competition, if he did know how to make the team more comfortable, he should have taken the lead and started doing it... Also, I feel that he doesn't have to many social skills. I don't like PG, I think she will be soon to leave, the same for Courtney.

I think Chicken needed to leave due to the fact he wasn't even willing to input ANY information to help the team for fear of becoming the 'leader' and stepping on people's toes.
Ashley may not have done much, however she is stronger and can contribute more to the teams via challenges while they are still on teams. She was sick for a day and recovered from such so she shouldn't have been eliminated.
The right choice was made.

Older folks on younger teams don't usually stand a chance, he should have kept on them instead of not offering any opinion and looking weak.
The church lady (radio host) will go first if that team loses.
I like Grave digger John and the flight attendant early on.
If they find out Ashley just won $250,000.00 just last year on WWE Diva contest that may hurt her.
The Gwen Stefani waitress is only about 100lbs now, what will happen in 3 weeks?

i dont agree homie!! Chicken made huge mistakes. He wasnt even giving his own opicions, put down the rest of the tribe and exiled himslef from the rest of the group. Ashley is FINE and was sick. But she was better the next day so dont worry bout her. I like Denise and Sherea the best.

i loved the first episode! but... i do not think that chicken should have been sent home. although i really like her, i think pg should have gone. she is getting bossy and irritating. plus, she is weaker compared to the others. i think ashley was a good choice to stay for now. she is physically very strong and i think she will step up her game after her scare at tribal.

Other than John, I didn't see anyone I really liked. Still early tho, so maybe others will show their real personalities soon.
I think Chicken should have stayed. He was cool but shot himself in the foot by not helping when he was asked about the shelter.
