We currently have SBC Yahoo! DSL on our home PC. Because it is the only computer in the house, we connect using an ethernet cable. I'm about to purchase an iMac. Would a wireless router be enough for me to get a signal? Do I need to download any software to my iMac?

You won't need to add any software to your iMac. A wireless router should be all you will need.

As long as your imac is wireless capable then all you should need is a wireless router.

Connect the router to your DSL modem then connect a ethernet cable from the router to your desktop and turn on your wireless on your imac and that should do it.
