Yes, I fell and hurt my arm, waiting it out, went to the doctor for a cold and said.."by the way my arm hurts". Doctor xrayed then put a cast on it.

3 years ago I missed my step down. It was concrete and my shoes flew out from under me. I hit the pavement hard and broke my wrist. This time it was MESSED UP broken and I knew. Didn't heal right, waited a month to go back, had to have surgery on it. Maybe if I had gone sooner I wouldn't have had surgery. It didn't stop there...lol. I guess I needed to break something that would really get my attention. Doctors had taken bone out of my hip to put in my wrist. Limping off the boat at the lake I slid on loose gravel and broke my fibula, tibia, and shattered all the bones in my ankle. OK that time no doubt...lol. It broke like Joe Theissman. Forgot to mention I'm allergic to all pain meds. Good thing I'm tough. I'm not going to fall again. I'm not...I keep telling everyone I'm not and no one believes me. But extra careful now. Oops I'm ok, didn't break anything.

I did that once. I lived to regret it. By the time I did go to the doctor they had to rebreak it. Not pleasant in the least bit. As much as a doctor freaks you out go before it is to late. They will give you good drugs to calm the nerves and ease the pain.

it sounds broke to me but it you want to tough it out until morning then get some witch hazel....which is like rubbing alcohol and soak your hand in a bowl of it or wet a rag with it and keep the rag on it , it will help with the soarness and swelling ...but if it is broke then this will do very little for it .. hope your hand feel better soon

I say you go to the doctor, I hate the doctor too but I think you should go. It's not good to let things like that heal on it's own. Good luck!!!

I think you should go to the doctors - i mean, it if hurts like crap and its really swollen, you need to go! it will only help you if you go, its not like they are going to be like "ah ha - another victim, lets see what pain we can cause him!" they are just there to help you, so you need to go and get better!
hope you feel better soon!

I had a weird bump on my head and didn't go to a doc about it. My doc just likes putting me on a bunch of pills instead of helping me, but you should see the doc about your hand.... it can be really dangerous if it's swollen

You should go see your doctor tomorrow!!!! Call them and tell them what happened and I'm sure that they will get you in right away. I had a similar incident happen to me. I don't think that you need to go to the ER, but please call your doctor first thing in the morning!

if you think that it might be broken you should definitely go to the ER. you need to get a cast so that it can heal properly or it'll just get worse...you might end up needing surgery rather than just a cast

yesssssss but it's best to go now before the break starts to heal itself.......then they have to re-break it and that is so much more painful than the original break....trust me I've broke alot of bones and hate going to get them fixed....best to do it while it's fresh.
