Look at all the common factors of the numbers to find the GCF.

28 = 2*2*7
70 = 2*5*7
126 = 2*7*3*3

What do they ALL have? Each number has a 2 and a 7. So the GCF = 2 * 7 = 14

2 • (7 + 8) = 2 • ____ + 2 • 8
This is the distributive property.
7 goes in the blank.

To find common factor, divide by numbers which are divisible for all the number until you cannot go on anymore. Then multiply the factors that have been used.
28 | 70 | 126 --- 2
14 | 35 | 63 --- 7
2 | 5 | 9
GCF for 28, 70, 126 will be 2 * 7 = 14

2 • (7 + 8) = 2 • 7 + 2 • 8

I think 7 is the gcf because when you divide 14 into 147 it doesn't come out evenly while 7 does.
