my mom gave me a very nice coffee maker that she had originally bought for my sister. it quit working so she was going to throw it out. i brought it home and ran vinegar through it. after cleaning it many times it eventually started working. the problem now is that i can't get it completely cleaned. i have ran vinegar and water through it about 12 times and it still has stuff flushing out. does anyone have any idea what i can do to completely clean this coffee maker?

The way I clean mine is baking soda and vinegar. I put the baking soda in then the vinegar. Let it foam then take a tooth brush to it. I have also used tooth paste that whitens. After you rinse it well i run 2-3 cycles of just water through.

Buy some CLR which is mostly phosphoric acid the main ingredient in coca-cola. Run it through a couple of times. It will work much much better than vinegar

That is hard water build up. Like calcium or lime. No biggy. It won't dissolve, but it won't kill you either. Just rinse it out with the water as much as you can then leave it. The build up forms over the heating element....so slows the heating process somewhat. That is all. To completely clean it - buy a new one.

After running vinegar through it that many times are you sure that it isn't your water maybe you should have it tested. Lots of luck. Sassy
