Canadian money increasing to the value of it's neighbor makes sense. The question is "what is Mexico doing so wrong that their money is next to worthless?"

Trans-national corporations based in the US want a weak dollar because that makes selling our exports easier as they're less expensive overseas. Imports will cost more, but these same corporations make out on that end as well as it takes more dollars to buy the same stuff. I suspect that because the Bush Junta works almost exclusively for the corporate interests there's probably some cupability there. Call it 'Bush bashing' if you want, but I seriously don't trust these guys....these weasels ain't exactly Eisenhower republicans...and even in that day the GOP wasn't exactly the best friend the American wage-earner ever had. The Republicans have always sided with the corporations. Why would anyone think that has changed?

It's been done, I believe under Reagan. We have 10 Trillion Dollar national debt, our money is basically worthless. We need currently 3 Billion a day of foreign investment, to keep artificially our limping economy going. the Military costs us 1 Trillion a year, since Bush.

Borrowed money heavily. Its that simple. You can go as far as to say foreign countries are "dumping dollars" (flooding the market with more US currency) due to our foreign policy. Eisenhower threatened to dump the British pound in the Suez Crisis of 1956. This caused the British to withdraw their forces.

The Economy does not lay in the realm of Presidential Power. Bush is not to blame. What is to blame is us. We are stupid enough to spend money we don't have. And now that we can't afford to pay for our loans, the system is being affected.
Inflation has more to do with the Federal Reserve. A Freaking private bank who We have allowed the government to give a monopoly over our monetary system.

for starters he has allowed the level of debt in the country to increase without controlling it. He has not looked at the economy at all and spent all the money he had on a war he cant possibly win.
Other countries are pulling out of US because of the war and the unstable economy.
As these investors leave the dollar drops.
He has no thought for the future which is evident by him not signing the Kyoto protocol. he is destroying everything he touches and he has his hands in a lot.

War. The wars in Afghanistan and Iraq are bleeding the USA dry. Plus the strain of financing so many military bases around the world.
