I just followed the instructions that came with my cam. If, you not have instructions go to the web-cam website and look for a PDF file. I plugged mine in and a box opened said; "New Hardware Found" and told me to insert the disk. Everything was just read and click from there. Then in my messenger I clicked on the cam and it worked (you may need to adjust your preferences). Also, I click on voice (Or whatever) and my microphone worked.

Typically there is software included with the camera or the cam is plug and play. Go to windows messenger (or yahoo, but it may be in different menus) and click Tools > Audio and Video setup...

Should work

Follow the directions with the disk.
Maybe just plug it in to USB port if you have XP and want simple usage built in to XP.
