With z scores, you are only interested in the magnitude. You don't care about the negative sign. But mathematically it should be -0.30.

*EDIT*
Oh come on man, you're dividing it the wrong way. It's 200 divided by 670 NOT 670 divided by 200. Were you really unable to figure this out?

*EDIT*
Yahoo should add a feature where answerers get to thumbs down dumb questions.

First, subtract 2,600 from 2,400. It gives you a total of -200.
If you then divide the -200 by 670 you get 0.2985075 which, when you round it out comes to 0.30.

z score is the number of standard deviations from the mean. Find the difference between the value and the mean then divide by the standard deviation.

2400 should be the result
2600 is the mean
670 is the standard deviation

to find Z-score Z= (result-mean)/ standard deviation

note you have forgotten the sign - in the Z score
