The 1960s were the worst decade in American history, hands down! Why would anyone want to relive that rubbish?

Unless you're a USA-hating hippie, commie or anarchist, that is

The glorious 1980s were America's Golden Age

The last time that the leftists had a political victory was when they forced us to surrender during the Vietnam War. Not only did they ruin my father's generation of military men by shrouding them with the veil of defeat; they paralyzed America.

America could not defend itself against attack for a decade because of our fear of failure.

Comparing Selma to the Jena 6 is a case of grasping at straws. The socialists want a new cause celeb re but I doubt glorifying 6 punks who viciously attacked a man is going to win many converts

You are right this is just pure hippy nostalgia

With the war in Iraq once again we are not allowed to win, The democrats want us on a level playing Field with the rest of these dirt countries. You can see that when they do not want to keep score at games, so no ones feelings are hurt.

They want the world to love and hold hands, and we all know that will never happen so they keep their rose colored glasses on and sing Kum Ba Yah.

As for the protests about Jena, Why do we not see them protest like this when it is black on black???? Where is rev al or shakem down jackson???? They keep pushing the envelope and something is bound to break, and it may not be what they want.

I do not care (at this point) that the white kids hung up nooses, that did NOTHING as far as beating them. They took it upon themselves to beat the white kid beyond belief. These kids should be tried as adults and sent to jail for years, And if rev al or jackson do not like it tough SH*T.

I have no clue man, it's like they're reaching to relive some glory days or something. I read an article that said most journalists today were to young to actually experience the counter culture of the 60's so they've decided to use Iraq as an excuse to try to experience some semblence of the 60's. I think that guy may have been spot on.

most would say the 30s and the great depression was the worst?

there were many good things that came out of the 60s... like civil rights...

and you can't see any similarities between Iraq and Vietnam? they are too many to count...

but Jena isn't quite Selma... I will grant you that... I don't think it's right what happened, but it's not Selma...

Actually the 90s. Since the economy was better (unemployment lower, growth higher and inflation and poverty lower) and while we had to strike out from time to time to protect ours and others' freedom, we were not invading sovereign nations, nor arming our enemies, nor calling the most vile brutal dictators in the world our friends. Plus of course the music and fashion was much better. Yep 90s is all over the 80s.

Didn't Dear Leader compare Iraq to Vietnam recently?

Maybe he's nostalgic to those good old days where he was nailing cheerleaders, drinking heavy and working on his tan when others were off fighting. Ahhhh....good times.

I agree with the former writer, that the great Depression was 10 times worse. But we could learn a lot from the 60's, people where actually politically informed then, not just parroting their politicians.
