The speed is one factor--the ability to stop is another--control while moving is affected and the whole thing could wind up being a disaster. Overloads are illegal if weigh stations pick up on it. Just a leaning truck that looks unsafe can be stopped by the police. The springs can also break and ruin the chassis as it twists violently due to stress. Now the truck is useless and you have to buy another one. Make two trips and save yourself a lot of aggravation.

Maximum legal and maximum possible are two different ends of the speedometer. Load limits are for the safety of the other vehicles on the road, not necessarily the truck.

Well, if the hill that truck is going down- is very steep, it could kill every Pedestrian that got in its way for MILES- before it disintergrated to a stop! And that's PRETTY fast! :0
