No need for tirades or bad language here.

Fact 1: America was founded by people seeking religious freedom & fleeing the tyranny of King George I's taxes. (If they wouldn't have spoken up against what they felt was wrong, we, as a country, would not be here today.)

Fact 2: Founders based Declaration of Independence & Constitution on democratic principles of freedom of religion, speech, etc. (To paraphrase Ben Franklin: Those willing to give away their freedom for perceived security deserve neither.)

Fact 3: Listen to what W. says himself - at least he seems to understand that living in a democracy means that those who don't agree with him have the right to express that opinion. It is the American way to be free to express your opinion. This has been going on for years. Its new technology, making sound bites instantaneous & worldwide, that makes it seem like its happening more now than it did in the past.

BTW - Greenspan is a registered Republican.

I am neither a Democrat nor a Republican. I'm a moralist.

I don't think it is bashing. I think of it as my opinion or calling like I see them. Like for instance. On 9-11 Osama Bin Laden trained terrorist flew planes into buildings around the US. An act of terrorism. These people were financed and trained by Osmam Bin Laden from Afghanistan. What does Bush do. He attacks Iraq. He actually invades Iraq. A country that had no part in the terroist act against the US on 9/11. It did have a ruler that we as a country didn't like. He was always talking ****. Plus he outlasted daddy bush. In the meantime Osama Bin Laden has not had abomb shot at him. Has no had a bullet shot at him. Has not even had a rock thrown at him.He financed and trained the terrorist that flew planes into buildings around the US on 9/11. But he and his family were business partners with the bushes. We liked him. He made profits for our companies. He didn't always talk ****. He usually backed his up with action. Now bush has million of americans believing we were attacked by Iraq and it's leader.Somehow the terroist and Iraq will be forever linked. But the terrorist leader is Osama Bin Laden and his terrorsit are in Afghanistan. Also for some reason the president has decided with this huge terror threat we should no only keep our borders open but also let as many unknowns in our country as we can. Now I don't call this bush bashing. I call it saying it like it is. One last thing. Can you imagine what if bush was president when Pearl Harbor got bombed. For those that don't know the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor Hawaii. Us soil. You jnow what happened next. We actually went to Japan and bombed them since they actually bombed Pearl Harbor.Imagine this. bush probably would have invaded California or China maybe even Somoa. California had alot of japanese then. And China is Asain right. Close enough. No it's not bashing when you weigh the true facts. bush the fight should be in Afghanistan. Have one of the military people look it up on a map for you.

Bush didn't grow a halo when he took the Oath of Office. We have a nice thing granted to us by the Constitutional Amendments and it's called Freedom of Speech.

Freedom of speech is a bit muffled at times, but you are always free to do so. You must merely accept the responsibility of your actions.

And yes, we are in Iraq for oil. NPR had an interview of James Baker not long ago, and he even admitted that US foreign policy was that we would go to war if the oil supplies available to the United States from the Middle East were threatened. Or from anywhere, for that matter.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that we are just going by a long-standing economic policy of securing oil for our future use. It's disgusting, and it's clearly un-American.

But at least you know it wasn't a big secret and it wasn't like it wasn't expected either.

In response to Anna R. 9/11 happened on Bush's watch. He had the intel and had been president for 8 months. My god woman, you don't recognize you have been brainwashed. Your arguments are naive and infantile. Terrorists can get to the USA without having to go through Iraq first. Why do you W supporters think that we are "fighting terrorists" in Iraq and if we don't do it there we will be fighting them here? Terrorists can come from anywhere, anytime and anyplace - remember Oklahoma City - those terrorists were AMERICAN.

Iraq exported 98% of their oil to the U.S. prior to operation Iraqi Freedom and oil prices are dictated by OPEC... So how does having troops in a foreign nation win cheaper oil that one is already buying?

Its funny how in todays day and age people are free to bash on whoever they want including the president, when 30 years ago it was unheard of. i suppose with all the media coverage and whatnot its easy to make fun of Bush. im not saying that he is right or wrong to invade iraq as that is a whole other discussion. what i am getting at here is that either way he should have some respect from the majority of this country. after all. we did vote for him. lol

Bashing?
As in calling him a liar?
he is a liar.
His pals are war profiteers?
They are.
The Invasion of Iraq is for oil ...iaw $$
It is.
Is the war about freedom?
It isn't.....
quite frankly ...we don't have a lot of experience establishing democracies....
we have tons of experience establishing dictatorships though.

Politicians who do it are thinking more about the next election than the next generation.

Others do it because it's far easier to take a cheap shot at someone than it is to defend him.

Anna R has obviously bought into the scare tactics.

We aren't interested in bashing anyone, just the truth. Truth is we are running out of energy stores. It is a problem, but war isn't the answer.

Cattledog: Thanks for that simple truth. You must always question, even if everything is going well.
