In distance, Super Wal-Mart.
In metaphor, all Mom & Pop stores that Wal-Mart has put out of business. Where you could go in and there wouldn't be 3,000 people waiting in line. They knew what your favorite items were and always kept them in stock. They would ask you how your son Ryan did at football practice. How the daffodils you planted a week ago were doing.
Those are the ones closest to me and my heart.
