Where can I get aluminum alloy for casting. I am looking for alloy 43, which is 95 Aluminum and 5 silicon? I only need about 30 pounds. I am having alot of trouble finding any alloy ingots. I am thinking of making my own out of glass and beer cans.

if you don't have a place in town (check out foundries and companies which recycle metal) you will have to have to order it via the internet and have it shipped. A company which sells a lot of different metals alloys is atlas metals, check them out. I am sure there are more.
I don't think beer cans are good for casting. They are probably not pure aluminum either, and I am sure they are no fun to melt down, they probably fly right out of the furnace unless a lot of them are heavily compacted.

Glass and beer cans - hum - Glass is silicon dioxide and will be real tough to get in the form of silicon.
Much easier to look in Yellow Pages - Paper or Online - for Foundry Supplies and Foundries. If you only find the latter, call them and ask where you can buy the alloy ingots.
eSearch 'aluminum alloy ingots Texas' with your state in it

You get aluminum ingots from an aluminum foundry.

Look that up on the Thomas Register web site.

Try getting ahold of a Business-to-Business yellow pages in your area- deals with businesses that have products and services that production companies and not the common retail stuff. Call around and see who will work with you. What about recycling companies who process aluminum- see what they have- discards/'seconds', that sort of thing. Good luck.
