Depends where your sitting... Its good for Europe because it gives them a way to compete with larger nations like the U.S. and China. Its bad because many of the Eastern European nations are exploited for their cheap labor, and have to meet strict requirments that are difficult for the less developed nations to meet. Also in the U.S. it means more trade regulations and anti-American business deals.

As a political body, it certainly is a good idea. Modern day Europe is quite well governed and it's populace, even though they might cringe at some of the collective buffoonery taking place, as long as they are completely interconnected via trade and political goals, they won't be killing each other in more senseless wars.
Most of that senseless conflict vanished with the removal of monarchs and church authority, but Hitler sure didn't fall into either of those categories, and neither did Mussolini. Nowadays, they are too busy in political weirdness to take up arms against one another.
And that makes it a very good idea, indeed. The EU is the cutting edge of modern day politics in the most boring way you can imagine.
But it does work, nicht war?

Not for the USA. Europe is taking over, has bypassed the USA in GDP already and its Euro is leaving the US Dollar in the dust. The USA has fought the European Union since 1912 and now has lost.

of direction it won't. have you ever seen what they're doing in Brussels? The Soviet Union improve into formed on the capability of the grand unifying tension of Russia. After the autumn of the British Empire, France's colonies, and Germany, no tremendous capability can dominate Europe, greatest to approximately thirty delegates who won't be in a position to even agree what language to chat! They hardly get something sensible performed, because of the fact the full difficulty is a multitude of translators and paperwork. presently, a tremendous number of the financial coverage has been crap besides. A unification of Europe could take many years, and the ecu seems to be in a nasty threat of even surviving in its' modern form, no longer to indicate cut back the independence of member worldwide places. EFTA improve right into a stable concept, however the ecu has been taken to a approaches. in spite of the actuality that a u . s . a . of Europe looks tempting (not greater threats from those leftists in China and Russia, and a greater physically powerful inhabitants and GDP than those extremely-Conservative Yanks), it rather is extremely no longer likely that this form of excellent variety of disparate peoples might desire to offer up their precious national sovereignity and unite under a easy banner. And that it may improve into like the Soviet Union is much greater uncertain, on condition that the Soviet countries have been Socialist Communist, jointly as each ecu u . s . a . are unfastened-industry Capitalist. additionally, I somewhat have by no ability heard any ecu utilizing something different than his or her nationality whilst conversing approximately him/herself. the only time a ecu ever makes use of "i'm ecu" is that if somebody thinks he/her us from yet another continent. Like me, once I write in Gneral American, because of the fact of Yahoo's correcting equipment, and locate it mandatory to describe that i'm from Europe, no longer the U. S..

They will always be our allies so it's okay with me. If you think that's not true, think again. Some of the members always have and always will be allied to the US and if there was ever an issue about the EU being allied with someone againts us it would break apart.
