My computer is having trouble all of a sudden with graphics, ect. When I try to turn on any games (that had previously worked perfectly) it says that the game card isn't working or something like that. It suggests changing the resolution of the screen, but it worked fine before and I haven't changed anything.

Also, my computer has been freezing up a lot lately. A lot of windows have been coming up with "not responding" and then they stick for a minute or two. The only thing I've done lately if connect my printer to the computer (which had been previously connected). Can anyone give me detailed advice about how to fix this?? Thanks!

You don't mention how much RAM you have. The only thing I could suggest would be to free up the RAM you have and not clog it up with goodies. Here is my checklist which I strictly adhere to:

1. Set wallpaper and screensavers to blank or none — they run continuously in the background and use memory.
2. Review your start menu – remove anything you don’t need on a daily basis — load games, etc. on an as-needed basis.
3. From Internet Explorer, Tools, Internet Options: delete cookies, delete files (offline), and clear history. (You can also set days to store history to 0.)
----- These actions will clear your computer’s cache. (For a description of cache, go to http://help.yahoo.com/l/ph/yahoo/mail/access/access-27210.html )
4. Run Disk Cleanup, Scandisk, Defrag at least every two weeks (the more frequently they are run, the less time they take).
5. Periodically, click Start, Programs, Run — they type ipconfig renew
(that’s ipconfig space renew).

These things should increase speed and free up memory as much as possible.

Your video/graphics card may be burned out, or the on-board VGA finally went bad, and the chip sets aren't handling it well, another thing to consider is RAM, has this gone bad, also, does the machine beep when started?

Probably your computer got a virus, tme same thing happened to my brother and it was a virus, i would recommend you run the antivirus software and after you do that, if it does not work do what my brother did, he backed up all his files to his ipod and then restored the computer and retrieved the files from the ipod!

try rebooting. if this does not work. go to your my computer. right click on your hard drive. click on properties. Do a disk clean up then do a defragmentation. reboot. If that does not fix it. your memory or video card may be broken. I would recommend taking it in for service.
good luck,
Ali

whilst my pc breaks I ought to make sure each 5 minutes, in basic terms in case it magically starts off to paintings, and after approximately twenty failed tries at magic, I call utilities, with the extreamly pressing venture: i prefer my pc fastened, stat! and then they only tell me the thank you to unhook and rehook it up (it only takes like 2 minutes over the telephone to do what i ought to in no way do in days) and VUALA! stable as new. this is like an emotional reunion!
