You complain about income tax , I bet you get a refund too don't you ....All you are doing is loaning the govt. money with no interest.

Chances are I pay more in taxes than you make in a year and I do not complain about it ..most of my money is wasted in DC with democrats wasting time , and money trying to make up new bills that they know are not going to pass ..they are just buying time until their winter vacation starts ...

If you have taxes taken out of your check you are only paying in half , your company is matching dollar for dollar ( 1/2) of the taxes taken out for state , federal , and SS .. and in some states like mine there is an additional " Medicare" tax...
I do not complain about my taxes ,as long as it is spent wisely and goes where it is supposed to go . Last March I sent a check to the IRS for federal income taxes for over 35,000.00 .....even with that amount , If the Police , Fire ,and EMS would get all of the money I would pay more ,

I think it is a shame that those men ,and women who we depend on , has to work two jobs just to get by , look how many of these people out there who are considered low income , and many get food stamps just to feed their kids , most of these guys work on their days off , most of them are new to the job , and have not worked their way up ....But even that is a shame , when we have so many desk jockey pencil pushers making over 50 to a 100 grand a year telling them how to do their jobs when they have never done the jobs themselves....It is even more of a disgrace that Soldiers do not make enough to live on when they are at home , they have to be ready for anything 24/ 7 / 365 ,just as we do..

And you are complaining , when those that will be there to help you anytime day or night are living paycheck to paycheck ......Do You Smoke Crack ?????

And by the way Property Taxes pay these guys ...I live in a County that has 27 fully equipped stations ,and 1000 Fire Fighters , All VOLUNTEER .......We take the same training , and do the same job , I am one too , it does keep our pproperty taxes down , and gives back to the County , we actually pay to do it , each fireman pays for their cars , lights sirens , and pay the Emergency Vehicle Insurance for our personal cars I have done it going on 20 years , and I could not do it for pay , I enjoy the job ...we stay busy day ,and night ...

If your property taxes are too high , why not try to organize a Voluteer Fire Dept. like we have , you sign up to do it , you can work all day , come home in hopes of seeing your kids , and eat a decent meal , just to have come in the house to drop everything , and run back out , and then later you re turn back home just in time to get ready for your regular job, and see you kids as they leave for School ... I bet you would not , and could not do the job.. which is why there are very few volunteer fire depts. today ...too many people without a back bone ...so you have to pay those few residents in your area that do have a back bone to be there when you hurt yourself doing something stupid ...like burn down your house with a hot crack pipe ,and torch... ...
we get 1% of property tax money , and it is divided up between 27 stations to maintain equipment , and purchase gear we need.....

For starters, the federal income tax does not pay police and fire department pay checks. It is local and state taxes that pay that.

Second, the federal income tax is un-apportioned, therefore un-Constitutional as cited by many Supreme Court cases. Not only does it violate the Constitution in that way, but it also violates the 5th amendment which states that you do not have to incriminate yourself. Ironically, if you don't report all of your income and where it came from, you can be put in prison for it. Thus, negating the 5th amendment. So technically, you don't have to file at the end of tax "season." In fact, the tax code states that it is "voluntary" to comply.

With all of these facts, I don't advise you **ssing off the IRS. They will find you, break into your house with fully automatic weapons and violate every right that you have.

Disagree with everyone. What do you think the pioneers(you remember them, there was no police,no fire depts)did when someone got out of hand, they shot them! And when a neighbors cabin caught on fire, the rest of the neighbors tried to pitch in and save that cabin! Most of the time the cabin was lost to the fire, but then again, your neighbors HELPED you build your next cabin! We would be better off to learn by the way the Amish and the Mennonites LIVE their lives.I would rather go back to those old times than to pay property taxes, state taxes,or fed taxes,it's MY MONEY,I EARNED IT,NOT THE GOV"MNT!

Well im just wondering, what the police and fire departments have to do with federal income tax's ?

Federal income tax's do not pay for or fund your local police and fire departments.

Local business tax's and sales tax's do.

Absolutely NOT. (If that were my ONLY option.)
But keep in mind, there are other ways for the Government to raise revenues besides the INCOME tax.
You probably pay more taxes by other means than you pay as income tax right NOW!
The legitimate services provided by Government are essential for a safe and orderly society. Without roads, we would not find it easy to go to work, receive the goods and services we need, etc. The fire department couldn't even get TO your home if their services were urgently required.
The ramifications of not paying ANY taxes are obvious.
The INCOME tax, on the other hand, is NOT essential. Other methods of taxation are possible.
The income tax is a Socialistic form of taxation that takes most if its revenues from the wealthy and gives SOME of it to the less productive by various means.
Mainly, since money is POWER, it takes from you YOUR power and gives it to potentially tyrannical, power mad politicians.
NEVER vote for ANYONE who wants to raise your taxes.

No. The corrupt will always be here in this country and throughout the entire world. The best defense is a good offense. Sadly, we need our police and fire departments. Without them, we probably wouldn't be around. Violence would be rampant. Peace, Love and God Bless.

No way, Water is at short supply to have amateurs fighting fires and I'd be running out of bullets keeping the order.

Not at all, but I would like to explore some alternatives like the flat tax or a value added tax as opposed to our present system.

No, esp considering that state taxes pay for that. Our rate is 3% here.
