My favorite FF game is FFX. I loved the storyline, and Yuna is by far my favorite character of all time.

FF8 without a doubt. It was the first FF game that I played through all the way. I loved the GF's and the boost system. The card game was fun as well. Plus Gunblade, how cool are those things. I want one.
FF7 is close to number 1 on my list but I just couldn't get over the graphics and the whole walking around in towns and on the world map with everyone inside you. I thought Cloud was eating his friends and then puking them up when they had to fight or talk. Yeah. I still loved FF7 as well don't get me wrong.

I like almost all of them. I've beaten FF 1 - X2 and then FF 12 along with Tactics and one of the Gameboy ones, I think it was Legend 3. So basically I've got probably too much experience playing these.
I personally think FF6 was the best (known as FF3 in America for SNES). Had a great story, great characters (14 playable), great magic system...I can't think of anything wrong with it.
That being said, as long as you didn't say God-awful X-2, I totally respect and understand your decision. FF8 was great too. I actually downloaded a Triple Triad game for my computer a year or so ago.

Mine is Final Fantasy VII because it had os much for me that I never got bored when I played it again. It has such a cool range of heroes and villans that you begin to love all the characters.
Sephiroph is awesome because of his cool; sinister nature... and he has an awesome sword!
The Shinra has loads of cool people in it: such a Rufus and the the Turks. The Turks arem y favourite "group" ever. I also like it when they turn good and how they try to make the world better.
AVALANCHE: I love how these guys were just so helpful to Cloud and to you as a player. There personalities and background stories really shone in this game.
The music in this game was amazing, there was one peice that I didn't like of it. The world was brilliant too, all the places you could visit was amazing. The sidequests you could do were brilliant too! You could do so much, like get Yuffie and Vincent; get a gold chocobo (go Knights of the Round!); go in that forest place... well, there was more but I'm probably boring you. So, there's my reason. I love the other games too!

FF8 - Total favorite, loved the story, the characters, the villians, and the way that they changed the abilities for the GFs
FF7 - right up there, good story, and I loved the follow up movies made for it

I like them all to but as for my favorite, I would have to go with FF7 and FFX.
FF7 because the story line is deep and it was the first one I have ever played and I loved it. I know its probably the only game to kill one of the main players half way thru the game.
FFX because you guessed it, I love the storyline and it keeps you guessing until the very end, plus with the graphic upgrades the ps2 gave it made it even better.

I gotta say 7, Sephy is one of the greatest villians of all time. The music, the story, the characters, the battle system. Its like the perfect game lol. My main gripe with 8 was the lack of a central villian.

I totally agree with you! Although I also have personal reasons, i.e. I think Squall is hot, and Laguna too! It has a great diverse flow of characters, so not everyone is just kinda pissed at everything, and just pissed running around finding random crap! The music is great...I may hafta sit down and play f8 again now that it's being brought up again!

My favorite was FFX and FFX2. FFX because I thought the movies were the best. . .well like better than other ones in the other FF. Sorry. I just liked this one best. Anyways, FFX2 because I liked the intro song. . .and I was kinda getting tired of playing as guys all the time. I was like "Thank U god! I'm playing as a chik!" ^_^
