You can be sued for this. It is a battery and you perpetrated it. Unless you are under 18, then your parents will be sued.

Not unless you rat on your friend...if he pushed the kid and the kid broke his nose as a result of the push, he is liable. If you do not give up your friend now, not one will believe you later and you could both be sued.
Your friend (and you, if you do not rat him out) could also be charge with battery, which is a criminal charge and sent to a juvenile detention center if under 18, or prison if over 18.

If she really wants to see you squirm, there's no way out. Even though the lawsuit may not stick, you still may have to get a lawyer. They start at about $ 200.00 per hour.
It looks like doing something you thought would be fun turned out to have some rather unpleaant consequences.

Nope. You committed a battery (much like Jena 6). If his parents don't drop it, you've got to face the consequences. Granted, you did not intend to break his nose, but his nose was broken and you caused it.
Edit: People have sued for less and won.

no, at the least it can be strongly argued that you committed battery. Maybe if you get punished you'll think before picking on people.
To the contrary of the numerous who think a law suit of this nature is frivolous, I think it's NOT. They can sue you for substantial monetary damages, especially if a lot of hospital expenses were incurred as a result. If it was me, I would've went to the most expensive hospital and doctors available. Then I would've claimed mental anguish and started seeing a psychiatrist...and sued you for that as well.

no, you can get sued, you touched him. any kind of touching in an assaulting manner is battery.
if the kid is picking on your friend, handle it another way if you dont want to get sued.
it's a frivolous lawsuit, but it is one.

If she takes you to court they will probably win. Unless you know a very good lawyer,

Don't worry about it. That is a really dumb threat. If she trys to sue, I wouldn't be surprised if the judge just threw it out. It wouldn't go very far.
