heres the thing..i was working for a coffee and bagel restaurant. i was there for 2 yrs,we had gotten a new boss and he was a jerk,he would make rude and sometimes nasty comments. thing is i felt like he was prejudice against me,he used to talk spanish to spanish employees about me and my other non latin coworkers. i kindly asked to leave work for 2 hours to get my infant some formula *he didnt have any food,i had wic appt* and we were DEAD slow with other employees there at the time. he said no and was very RUDE,although he has let the others go home early etc with no problem. so of course my first instinct i old him my baby comes first and i kinda cursed at him and stormed out and never came back. i filed for unemployment but didnt win *he lied big time about the situation..now its been 1 yr and he has left the company and they got a new boss. my friends still work there and i NEED a job asap. i asked my friend/coworker to ask about rehiring me tomorrow. think i can get my job back

. Sure. Tell this new manager that you were going thru a rough time in your personal life and it's a LOT better now.
I wouldn't say much of anything about the old Spanish manager.
Say you liked working for that restaurant and the customers seemed to like you, and you want to come back, maybe on a 'trial' basis?
