I am doing a project in my history class where you must name your own country and describe how you will rule it. I chose to name the country "Robinland" named after myself and it will be a dictatorship where I am the supreme dictator and will kill anyone that opposes me. It has to be like an actual country so I want to know how dictatorship countries make money and work so I can explain it to my class how my country will work and any ideas and suggestions to add to my country will be appreciated like how my military and civiians and economy will work in "Robinland".

Dictatorships don't make much money.

People want to work only when they gain from it. In a dictatorship, the people are all your slaves, and don't want to work.

It would be better if you were a Monarchy. You could be Queen or King. Everyone would love you and work hard. You would be in absolute control and can tax the happy people for money.

Most country economies have to be based on their natural resources or like tourism, so if your country is in the oil fields, you would get rich quick this way and if you lived in a lovely beach area probably tourism : motels, restaurants etc. SEe ?

There are two examples I can think of - Cuba and North Korea. Even though they are isolated economically and socially by free nations, in truth however, they do conduct trade with other countries. Of course, NK have economic and limited diplomatic ties with China. I've heard they also have contacts with other 'shady' nation-states like Syria.

Cuba, in my opinion, is only 'isolated' in as far as the US is concerned. They do limited trading even with democratic countries. Here in the Philippines, I know many have gone to Cuba as tourists.

In our world no country, even one with seemingly unlimited resources can exist without any help or support from other countries.
