I ask this because I just read a couple of answers that say that if people knew more about the candidates then we wouldn't be stuck with Bush for these last 4 years.
Well I watch Hardball, O'Reilly, Countdown, Daily Show, Hannity&Colmes, and read a whole heck of alot of news on the internet, especially the far left liberal AP articles via Yahoo! News.
Now what in the world did I miss in 2004 that caused me to make the huge mistake that some youngsters think I made by deciding to re-elect Bush?

Ever since I can remember, the American people said they wanted a politician that did what he said he was going to do.
Now they have one and they want to hang him from the nearest tree.
They just never listened to what he said or they thought he was kidding or they let some influence talk them into believing he said something else.
For instance: I have heard here and on the media and in chat rooms that Bush lied when he said the war on terror was going to be a 'walk in the park'.
What I heard him say was that it was going to be a 'long, dangerous, costly affair that would last generations and try the patience of the American people every day'. edt:
90% of the American people then said: "Go get 'em George"
Did he say both? Maybe it's me that missed something.

The fact that we were in the middle of a war got Bush re-elected. Kerry was an overgrown hippie.
Seriously though, I am ping ponged out on that issue.

The only fact that concerned me was that the Democratic nominee was horrible. I didn't vote for Bush in 2000 but had no choice in 2004................

I voted for him, and I'd do it again. I didn't vote for Bush the person, per say, but for a conservative President because I knew slots would be opening in the Supreme Court, and I wanted conservative, not liberal, justices appointed. Would I do it the same again? Yep, I would.

That the Bush Doctrine is something he would never carry out. It was [some] good rhetoric, but he never carried through on "no distinction between terrorists and the countries that harbor them". He was / is an utter woos!

I personally think that we didn't miss too much about GWBush - and we certainly didn't miss anything about John "perpetual liar" Kerry, either - hence, we elected GWBush.

Over half the voters made the same mistake but, unlike you, half of that half now realizes the error of their ways. Think about it.

The "fear factor" - remember if we elect a Democrat and we'll be fighting the terrorist at home.
