a typical pack of bubble gum will show that one piece has a mass of about 8 grams, and of that mass, about six grams is sugar. The longer you chew, the more sugar will dissolve and the more mass will be lost. thats why sugared gum loses more mass than sugarless gum.

because the saliva in your mouth along with your teeth breaks down the ingrediants in the gum reducing it to liquid over a matter of time.
