why does the mass of bubble gum decrease after chewing it for a long time? please help me because i don't know.

sugar slowly dissolves, leaving the gum in the process. also, tiny bits are torn off and swallowed. each bit is insignificant by itself, but they add up over time. chewing also compacts it, but that would only decrease volume, not mass.

Yes the sugar dissolver and those chemicals are called enzymes. Thats basically what saliva is, enzymes. I'm not gonna go into detail about the enzyme because you didnt ask for it but that is what theyre called.

I agree that the sager dissolves slowly,but i think that the chemicals that our mouths release have a lot to do with the process.Chewing releases chemicals that help brake down all foods that we eat.

GUM CONTAINS SUGAR AND FLAVORS WHICH ARE RELEASED INTO THE MOUTH AND SWALLOWED THUS REDUCING THE MASS.
