My mom was a great cooker..(she still is, but i prefer to cook myself).
She was able to cook lebanese dishes without being lebanese. Her speciallity was mesche wara 3rish and ftaye.(meat ones) Yummyyyyyyyy !!!!!!!
My lebanese granny taught her how to cook lebanese food.
The specialist in lebanese desserts in the family is...moi.
I love to cook them.......and to eat them. !!!!( namura, awamets, maamul, baklava, makrun)...OMG...cant think about them now..I'll do one for today !!!!!
By the way....my favourite home made dishes are just the 2 I told..mesche and ftaye.
Ouufaa..........when will you invite me for dinner???

Fried chicken for dinner and Peach cobbler or cheesecake for dessert. She is on this good cholesterol diet thing and she quit frying the chicken though. Man, that sucks! No seriously, I'm VERY proud of her for sticking to her diet. That's awesome. She has more willpower than I do.

Mum is a great cook, anything she makes is specially good.
But her specialty would be little pies, pastries and small finger food such as samboosek, kibbi etc.....
she's not very big on dessert, I think she only makes creme caramel and a walnut teacake.

her chicken cacciatore is amazing....she also makes a kick @ss tortellini soup.
Nothing beats Christmas Eve though. We celebrate a traditional Italian celebration of the 7 fishes. We have our own take on it, and that is THEE best meal she could ever make.
