-35x – 28 + 35x -5 = x – 7
-35x + 35x – 28 – 5 = x – 7
–7(5x + 4) + 5(7x – 1) = x – 7
-35x + 35x -33 + 7 = x – 7 + 7
-33 + 7 = x
-36 = x

OMG...I can't believe I did basic subtraction wrong! Thanks for pointing that out...Thanks for showing me an easier way all of you as well...that long version was killing me especially when there are 50 problems!

(-35x + 35x) =0
so you get
– 28 – 5 = x – 7
-33 + 7 =x
x =-26

i don't know how ur teacher taught that but i think s/he was trying to make it as confusing as s/he possibly could.

this is how i would have done it:

-35x-28+35x-5=x-7

0x-33=x-7
-33+7=x
(this is like 33-7, but then just remember to add a negative sign)

-26=x

which is -33=x-7 add 7 to -33 and -26 is your answer
