A teacher should be excited about what she/he is teaching; creative about ways to spark that interest in the students; kindness and understanding, and forgiveness are also very important, because the students should feel that they have a new beginning every day, to do their best. Education should be more important to them than grading, and punishment should be the last thing on their minds. If they hold the love and respect of the students, and keep them busy, they rarely have many behavior problems.

A good teacher makes you want to learn. He/she exudes an excitement for what is being taught, thus keeping the students' attention. Making you want to ask questions, instilling thought processes, creating a give and take environment where all students can participate without fear of ridicule or reprisal; these things make a good teacher.

Patience and caring.
Patience because without it you (the teacher) would lose their mind dealing with twenty-five kids an hour looking at you like you were from outer space or something.
Caring - the teachers that had the greatest impact on me were the ones that cared if I were successful or if I just passed.
