There is a misprint in the first equation.

All you have to do is add or subtract or multiply or divide things from/by both sides, which does not change the value of the equation.

2x = 3y + 10

Subtract 10 from both sides

2x -10 = 3y

Divide both sides by 3

(2x -10) / 3 = y

_______________________

1 + 7Y = 5x -2

subtract 1 from both sides

7Y = 5x -1

Now divide both sides by 7

y - (5x -1)/7

You can perform any operation on an equation as long as you do the same thing to both sides. To rearrange an equation so the y is a function of x, use operations on both sides of the equation to remove all constants from the side of the equation containing the y.

For example:

1+7y=5x-2

Subtract 1 from both sides

(1+7y)-1=(5x-2)-1

Leaving

7y=5x-1

Then divide both sides by 7

(7y)/7=(5x-1) /7

Leaving

y=(5x-1)/7

3x + 5y = 7
5y =-3x +7
(y = -3/5x + 7/5) = f(x) = -3/5x + 7/5
Basically, y = f(x), which is said 'function of x'

So, for the rest of the equations, just make "y" equals f(x).
The reason for this is to find a variety of different ways to represent x. For example, if I gave you three equations, all of which equal "y", which one would you know to graph? However, if I gave you three equations, all of which could be
f(x), g(x), and s(x), you would know which one to graph based on what I tell you to graph.

So,
2x = -3y + 10
3y = -2x +10
y = -2/3x + 10/3
f(x) = -2/3x + 10/3

1 + 7y = 5x - 2
7y = 5x - 3
y = 5/7x -3/7
f(x) = 5/7x -3/7

y = 3x/5 = 7/5
y = -2x + 10
y = (5x-3)/7

iam not quite sure but...
7y=5x-2-1
7y=5x-3
y=5x-3/7
x=5y-3/7

iam wrong i think

sorry
