For starters, the term "resort" applies to clothing that is dressier than casual clothing. Examples are sun dresses, skirts, cuffed shorts w/belt, trousers with jacket or blazer. No, cut-off shorts, flip-flops, jeans or halter tops.
Men should stay away from under shirts/tee shirts, cut-offs, flip flops or "muscle" shirts. Slacks w/belt button down shirt, cuffed shorts w/belt, no white socks with dress shoes!. Also, a blazer or two and a few pairs of shoes or boots should take care of "resort attire". Don't forget to pack at least one neck tie.
Hope this helps.
