lol I know, I'm kidding. he's in a nice 10gallon for now with a bunch of fake plants and a filter and a heater (not hot, just my room has been getting freezing at night and I don't the temp water fluctuating that much) and a b**** of a female betta.
my question is (and it's really more of a discussion) aren't crayfish supposed to not be with fish because they pinch at them? I got him because he was only $0.99 and put him with my female betta that I don't care for because she killed the alpha (my favorite). well the stupid thing hasn't touched her once. now mind you my intention was not to kill the betta, I just don't care much if he does. I'm just curious as to why he's not going after her.
anyway, before you get on me about hating my fish, I cry when each one dies and actually BURY them. I just don't like her because she killed my favorite betta and attacked my cory. oh... and female bettas can be kept together, so don't tell me the problem was there were two bettas.

Jordon S! go read up on your bettas, bettas deserve at least 2.5gallons of HEATED clean water.

erm... I could... but why? do you have some weird crayfish/betta fetish?
lol kidding, if it's really important, sure. but it will be hard to get both the crayfish and the betta in the same shot, he likes to go from plant to plant to plant so it's hard to get a picture of him period, hoping she'll happen to get in it too sounds like a long shot. but as I said if you really want it I can try.

yeah, he's just a run of the mill stream crayfish... he's been exploring all day, not hiding too much. the betta will swim over to him, but he just stares at her. she hasn't tried to mess with him yet, but they're about the same size.
when I got him he was in a huuuuge tub in the koi room of the fish store with tons of other crayfish. no hiding places or anything so I just had to get one. they were all very active, and he looks quite healthy (except he is missing a claw but they were fighting in the tank so I'm not worried).
as I said, it's not like I got him to kill her, I'm just not concerned if it does happen. so if he wants to live peacefully with her, that's fine. thanks for everyone who answered :)

antoinette c I know you meant well, but I did not ask for advice on how to keep him. I already full well how to take care of him or I would not have bought him. he is not is warm water, he is simply in water that is not fluctuating 20° everyday and yes, i mean 20° it's been going from low 70's during the day to low 50's at night). I find it insulting that you assume I would buy anything without doing proper research first (he isn't my first crayfish btw), but I guess since I haven't been answering for a while you haven't seen my answers and know that I'm actually quite experienced with aquariums.
