Instrumental illuminations go off when head lights are turned on in my 92 Honda Civic.Any idea how to fix?

This is a 1992 Honda Civic LX. Its istrumental illumination goes off when head lights are turned on in my 92 Honda Civic (I cant see the speed ot any other gauge when it is dark). Can anyone figure out what the problem could be?

try tighting the wiring and ask a mechanic

I just make a guess. Some instrument panels dim automatic when the headlights are turned on. Look around the light switch for a wheel to adjust or try turning the light switch itself and see if that it. IF, you not already try. This all I know.
