When you don't deny that it's possible that God exists, but you know that it can't be proved that he does?
Not anarchist, but it sounds like it

Bruce is right, the word is agnostic. The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines agnostic as "a person who holds the view that any ultimate reality (as God) is unknown and probably unknowable; broadly : one who is not committed to believing in either the existence or the nonexistence of God or a god."

It comes from Greek for unknown, and generally defines someone who does not want to commit to either extreme.

Hope this helps

I just want to add that agnostic is the correct answer. The atheist choses to believe that God does not exist whilst the agnostic does not commit to believing either way.

If you ask an agnostic if there is a God, they will say they don't know. If you ask an athiest, they will say NO.
