happiness is not a choice. you cannot choose to be happy no matter how you want to. You can fake being happy or take drugs to fool yourself. But it is not real happiness. It is an illusion. This illusion is not even for your self. It is so that society feels better about you. Sad but true.

That's what they say. But then, one can't be happy 24/7, even if you want to be. It's just not possible. They say happiness is a journey or something. I don't know though. I experience happiness at the oddest of times. Like when I am crusing with my sister and we stop at a Target just to get strawberry milk- which I love so much. It's always those random little things which make my heart beat with joy.

I would say true.
Not many people out there are really given an oppurtunity to be happy... look at all the homless children in africa out there... they have so little to be happy about and yet you can always see them smile and enjoying life...

But yeah... happiness is a choice because only you can make yourself happy by always looking at things positively.

True and false ... for the average person, we can choose to be happy, sad, mad, etc. - that choice is ours in how we react to life and what it hands us........ but for people who are clinically depressed, they're robbed of that choice and they can't just choose to make themselves happy - they need help with it

True, no one really gets up one morning and says, "Hey, let's have a miserable day, I haven't had one of those in awhile."
However, it is a possibility that this same man may get up one morning and walk into the other room where his family and friends are & take a weapon and blow their stuff into a million pieces, just because, he made a choice to do it.

It is true. You can control happiness. Thus it is a choice.

True. Happiness comes out of one's, or some elses, actions. Make a mistake, you're not happy. Do something good, you're happy.

This is true, and the only real source of happyness comes from within.

But getting to the point where you understand this is quite a long and difficult journey.

You first need to lose your ego and that is impossible for most people...
