As usual, the famous Dodgeman doesn't have any idea what he's talking about. Freon gets hot when you compress it. It gets cold when you decompress it. If you put the high pressure coil inside, you get a heater. If you put the low pressure coil inside, you get A/C.

Freon is a gas and there are different types all work the same.. when you compress a gas it make heat that cooled in the condenser core and then it's goes through a small hole or valve in side the line just before the evaporator core and it gets very cold this is what happens when a gas expands

It is a refridgerant that was made by Dupont. It was used in automobile air condtioners until the mid 90s because manufacturing of it in the US ceased in 1990. The chemical is said to attack the ozone layer and deplete it.

The trade name for Freon is R12.

its a chemical that when its being compressed it gives off cold, that's where we get the cold air from in all air conditioners, this chemical can work two ways when compressed and run backwards like in home heating systems will give off a certain amount of heat, when its compressed forwards it gives off cold, that's about it,good luck.
