This is interesting to ponder because we wonder if we are ready for a Black President. But many people have said that they will no longer watch The View because it's "just another Black show" now. I don't think anyone was surprised that Whoopi was hired because everyone knew that the View would probably hire an African American. But many were shocked with the 2nd AA hire. Will it make a difference to viewers? Will Joy Behar and Elizabeth Hasselbeth speak about race as truthfully as they had in the past? Will it make a difference to you?

Why is race an "issue" only when non-whites are involved? I think TV in general has too little diversity and does not represent a realistic cross section of society, be it across racial lines, class lines, disabilities, orientation, weight, looks, etc.

You're right. It's a horrible word. Whoopi has not right to make up the rules for black people. Elisabeth is right about NO ONE should say the word. Sheri was wrong too. They think they're comediennes and that it's ok for them to use it. I am white and I don't want to hear ANYONE use it. Comedian or not.

Every time I see a question like yours I shake my head in disbelief. How can you see color? Who cares? You are making a big deal out of nothing.

Is the show "too black"? Are you "too stupid"? I don't care, you deserved that one. What is meant by the "2nd AA hire"? I have never seen that before.

I don't think anyone's behavior will change. They will still say what they think about whatever the subject is.

By the way, you spell Elisabeth with an s, not a z. That is the way she prefers it. Now if there was anyone that should exit that show, it would that one. Don't get me started on the "white" people because when Barbie is there, it is too white. I hope when Barbie retires they can secure another black person. I really think they should add Oprah's friend Gail to the mix. Then it would be a great show.

Why does everyone say does having (more than two) black people on a show make it too black. Good lord, then would the show be too white without them? Or if a show has an all white cast, too white? Or if the cast is predominantly black it is a black show. I really hate how most shows just have one Black or Asian, like they are rare.
White people are quickly becoming the minority in this country but the media still has us as the majority, with programming and advertising. Times need to change with our population

What on earth?!!!
I'd like to know who are the "many people" you have heard saying this because since Whoopi and Sherri have been on I haven't heard one single, solitary comment about the color of their skin. Did you hear this on tv or from your friends and neighbors? I'm guessing these are comments you have heard (or said) first hand because who the hell says they won't watch a tv show because it's "just another black show"?!!!
Everyone is free to watch whatever they want on their television and if there are people who are upset by seeing 2 black woman on the screen at the same time I guess that's their own close-mindedness that they have to deal with.

I haven't heard anyone before this make that suggestion.

How can a panel with 5 people, 2 of them Black, be TOO black?

I don't watch this show so it won't make any difference to me....it wouldn't even if I did watch.

I don't know or care if it's "too black", but I do think it's getting too stupid.

Sherri Sheppherd isn't sure if the world is flat or not:

Whoopie thinks dog fighting is a time-honored practice in the south. (In that case what about slavery?)

Elisabeth Hasselbeck is no prize either. Barry Manilow said of her, "I strongly disagree with her views. I think she's dangerous and offensive. I will not be on the same stage as her . . . I cannot compromise my beliefs."

What does it matter? Sheri and Whoopi are funny. I think they're great additions to the show. You also have to remember that Joy, Elisabeth, and Barbara are still there, so it's not an even number. But when you think about it, Barbara is hardly there, so it sort of is. That's a good thing.

The show was never interesting to me, no matter what color the co-hosts were or are. I prefer to watch the actual news shows instead of a bunch of women (or men) spewing their take on the news.

I dont think that you've heard anybody saying this, i think that you feel this way,and you're just trying to find somebody else who's on the same dull irrelevant path as you...nobody cares...they're talking about issues from their different points of view...does it matter? if they were all orange and green they would still be saying the same thing...
