I feel if you harm someone, you need to suffer the consquences. I teach second grade and I constantly explain to my student that you NEVER EVER put your hands on someone. If they do something to bother or hurt you, come to me first. Let me help you talk it through. If they hit someone, even in 2nd grade, the school police are called.
They assualted another human being, shouldn't there be a consquence?

I do not think that being put in jail is the solution - but there should be some serious consequence. I think that we are too easy on people.

I understand that rule are to be made . And we must be taught how we must live in this world. some are hard and swift , and some gentle , some informative.....pick ,one mite work. I my self pick gentle and informative.

yeh but i think they're a tad too harsh. & the JENA high school does have a history of racial tension.
