Whoever said every day of our lives was predetermined was misinformed. God has a direction for us and a specific purpose for us--because He knows us so well He knows what we're going to do before we do it--but He also gave us the freedom to choose, which means every choice we make is ours. That hasn't been predetermined. We can choose to follow a different path than what has been planned for us. Besides, do you really think God has nothing better to do than plan what we're going to decide to wear or eat every day of our lives?

Who told you that? Even God doesn't say that, and i would bet that a lot of leading philosophers don't, either. You have the choice every day to do whatever you want. Every single choice you make, from whether to chew your gum on the right or left side, to who you will lose your virginity to, is up to you. It is not predetermined, but from at least a Christian point of view, the choices you will make are already visible to God before you make them, but are certainly not dictated by him or anyone. That does not for one minute mean that you cannot make them. We are not robots. You can choose to believe your life is predetermined, which in itself is a choice that is not predetermined, whether you believe in God or not. Sometimes, your actions leave you with little or no choice, so at that point your course is predetermined, but as a result of your actions. For example, you can drive your car on a mountain road and follow the road, or you can aim at the guardrail and sail through it. If you had followed the road, you would have had many choices concerning where to stop, how fast to go, where to eat dinner, where to sleep, the list goes on. However, if you choose to sail through the guardrail, your single path, your predetermined course, is directly and quickly to the bottom of the ravine, and there will be nothing you can do about it. The fact remains that you chose that path.

If each day of our lives is already predetermined then there is no point. But there's no reason to believe that our lives are predetermined, is there? A hundred years ago all scientists saw the universe as mechanical, like a watch. Since then developments in quantum theory and revealed a universe that is much more complex and unpredictable than that. Contemporary science in no way suggests that mechanical watch model of life and the universe.

It is not exactly predetermined. It is predestined what will happen but how you act is your new karma to come. So we have previous life karma (reaction to our previous actions.) A baby is born blind or sick or healthy or in a wealthy or poor family all due to past life karma. But as the child grows they become responsible for their actions. So our good and bad karma are coming live the waves in the ocean (all the time) but how we respond will create our next karma. We should learn the process of Transcendence (Bhakti Yoga) so not to commit any more karma for ourselves and stop the cycle of repeated birth, death old age and disease. This is the goal of human life. But taking ones own life will not end our suffering because we are eternal spirit souls. We will remain as a miserable ghost for at least as long as our life was destined or longer for being such a coward. for info on Bhakti and all this read Bhagavad Gita as it is By Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada asitis.com you can read it on line also go to harekrishnatemple.com I am so glad I found this sublime process. Now I have something to live for.

If you think your life is predetermined, then it is not predetermined by others but by yourself. We live to determine our way of life and see the result. Sometimes too many questions don't help at all. Live each day just because we are alive.

i think of moderately, yeah. because of the fact rather, in case you pass up each and all of the large opportunities in existence that supply you large concepts and stuff, then you definately're existence would be long previous in the past you realize it and it will empty and meaningless. yet on the comparable time, you could no longer basically go and do in spite of because of the fact then, like the different guy stated, you would be put in reformatory for specific, or you may get killed, or you may develop right into a hobo, the record is countless. nonetheless, once you do no longer threat something, you threat much greater. So, easily, to a definite element, yeah.

Even if the fate of the material body was predetermined, one can do his duty by dovetailing the results to God. This way, instead of degradation, one can perfect his love of God. This will decide the environment of the afterlife: in the spiritual world or back in the material world.

Even IF our lives are predetermined we don't know what each day will bring. Every day is an adventure whether it has already been determined or not. Do you know what's going to happen tomorrow? I don't, but I look forward to it whatever it is.

You live each day or you die today. Wow, what a choice. Who says each day is predetermined? You on a treadmill? You in a fun house? Never believe such nonsense.

We all have choices to make in our lives. I could have said no to my husband when he asked me to marry him. Glad I didn't.
You choose every day to get out of bed and do whatever you do for a job or go to school or be a mom at home. We are not puppets.
