Why don't you simply ask your employer if it's alright, rather than a bunch of strangers who have no vested interest or concern if you get fired or your boss gets short shrift?

Perhaps he'd like to know that your time is not being used as effectively as it could be, and he would either reduce your hours or find additional tasks for you to perform.

You agreed to take his money to perform a task in a given amount of time. If you don't need that much time, honor requires you to tell your employer that.
