Here's my contribution:
Kangaroo rats get all of the water that they need from rain moisture that soaks into their stored seeds. And, because they never drink, they never have to pee.

Dandelions are not indigenous to the US. They were brought by the European settlers as food and medicinal plants when they crossed the Atlantic Ocean. And there is some speculation that Asian settlers also brought the plants when they came into the West Coast as the plant is also indigenous to Asia.

The plant has adapted so well to it's new home in North America that it has evolved two sub-species. The tall stem variety and the short. This mutation occurred over many years of the cutting and mowing of certain areas resulting in the shorter stock.
