I've never lived in a snow area and am thinking of moving and giving it a try. Bad move or not?

From Upstate New York---By all means, give it a try!! I'd rather have a snowstorm than earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, wildfires, floods....Snow CAN be inconvenient, but also beautiful!! Snow gives me a reason to stay inside, not mow the lawn, and work on indoor tasks I neglect during the summer!! Plus, I love a white Christmas....

Yes where I come from half of the year is winter, the snow sometimes reaches the roof (no i'm not kidding) as for you moving to where it snows let me ask you a question when you have a shower do you like to have it hot, warm or cold> if you don't like a cold shower than you might want to reconsider moving. 2. keep in my that most people become depressed from lack of sunlight. 3. Its bad for driving in and causes car damage. 4. you have to shovel alot 5. you have to pay higher heating bill etc. good side have you ever seen a white christmas it's beautiful, then there is skiing, skating and skidooing. snowball fights are a blast and then there are nights that are silent and beautiful so it depends on you as an individual.

I live outside of Nashville and it snows a very few inches a year, which is just enough. I used to live in South Lake tahoe where, of course, it snowed A LOT! It was great for the first few years, but I got sick of shoveling and dressing in a million layers! But, try, you may love it and you can always move again!

You have to learn to drive in it. I live in Pittsburgh. It's pretty early in the season (like for Christmas) but by January I'm over it. You have to dig out your car, warm it up, and sometimes scrape the ice off it, shovel the sidewalks, etc., etc. Ugh.
