No. They are not bad. What's bad is poor riders who think they're indestructable, and poor drivers who don't look around when driving.
Don't blame the machine, blame the person in control.

Other than the admitted hooligans here, I'd put money that all the rest who said they were "dangerous" have never ridden one and are simply spewing what everyone else has told them without any practical experience.
A buddy of mine is married, and his wife won't let him get a motorcycle. She claims they are "deathtraps" although she has NEVER ridden one, and her opinion, like the aforementioned ones, is ignorant and meaningless.
Motorcycles are only as dangerous as the RIDER. They are not infernal contraptions designed like a bucking bronco, just wating to throw you off in the middle of traffic! But if the rider gets in over their head or tries something beyond their skill level, the bike will only do exactly what the rider tells it to.
Just like it takes time to learn ANY new language, you might be able to get by on a few phrases in Motorcycle but I wouldn't try anything significant until I was FLUENT.

Not.
Not at all.
Some say they are more dangerous than a car, but that isn't really true.
Being in a car can be considered more dangerous - look at what they run into: not just motorcycles, but other cars, trucks, trains, busses, trees, light poles, stop signs(I still haven't figured that one out).
A person on a motorcycle has no cell phone, backseat driver(or kids), no putting on makeup or doing the hair............

They are great. The only bad thing about them is that here in the midwest they're almost impossible to ride year round with our climate. Ice and below freezing temperatures make for less than ideal riding conditions. Maybe global warming will help in that regard.

no, motorcycles are good things. They get very good gas mileage which is good for the environment as well as saving energy, they are smaller and therefore make traffic jams less, they are easier to find parking for, more of them can fit on the roads or in the parking lots, they don't wear out tires as fast a cars and trucks, which again, is good for the environment, and, they have the added bonus of just plain being fun to ride. ;0)

Motorcycles are machines.
They are neither good or bad.
This good or bad is a function of the operator.

they are exactly like shoes or boots. if you are uncoordinated or dont watch where your going you will fall, if your alert & pay attention to your surroundings your safe. although everyone trips occasionally if you pay attention you wont fall.
if you have frequent accidents in your car dont get a motorcycle!

My motorcycles are bad things.
They make me break speed limits, take corners recklessly and ogle pretty girls.
I wouldn't have it any other way.

It is more dangerous than people think.
That is why it is more fun than people think.
The problem is other drivers...You never know what stupid move they might do and in turn put your life in danger...
It makes me crazy but what can we do...
Go for a ride to forget about it and relieve stress?
