can i buy electricity from another provider?

I have to buy electricity from the board of public works. This is all that is available in my area. I heard that i can buy electricity from another company and they rent the electric pole from my current company, then I pay them. I want to learn more thank you

sounds like our phone co, they rent the poles from xxx co, its a double deal and charge us for the rental, added to the bill, + extras for useing there phone lines,
stick with the one you have,
its a rip off,
