Do you believe in murder? If not them why do we say it is all right to murder an unborn child? So morally, religiously, politically, and philosophically, it is wrong.

Morally? We cannot say, that is a value judgment. You cannot argue values, because everybody is different in that respect.

Religiously? Some people may argue it is against God's will, but there is no scriptural evidence to back it up. A more valid arguement would be "Thou shalt not kill," but that would be hipocrisy considering the millions that have been killed "in God's name." Also, everyone has different religious beliefs--therefore, we cannot pin it down by this either.

Politically? As much as we don't like to admit it, religion does spill over into politics more than we'd like. On one side we have pro-life, a side that basis its standing on values and religion--moot points. On pro-choice, there are actually facts to back it up. 46 million abortions occur each year worldwide, 20 million in countries where it is illegal. These illegal abortions are performed in unsafe conditions, and while the mother only has a 1/160,000 chance in dying in a safe, legal abortion, the chances of the mother dying are 1/294. 52% of abortions occur in women under the age of 25, 49% in families where the income is less than $30,000 a year. In either situation, both child and mother would live deprived lives. Also, before 1973 when it was legalized, women would get abortions anyway in the same numbers, only it came at greater risk to the mother. Women will get the abortions anyway. Since there are two sides to this debate politically, there is no one way or the other because it is both right AND wrong politcally because of these two sides. Therefore, we cannot say it is wrong politically either.

Philosophically? I honestly have no idea, but looking at the patterns above, there will probably be philosophers who both agree and disagree with abortion--therefore, it is another moot point.

In essence, it is neither right nor wrong--it is simply the mother's choice, and I personally believe it is wrong to impose one's will upon another. Also, as you can tell by the statistics I have given (all true and verifiable, and there's even more!), abortion being illegalized again would not deter women from recieving them.

Currently, abortion is legal in the majority of cases. There are some restrictions, but generally speaking, if a woman finds herself pregnant, she can legally get one. Because it's legal, abortion is morally wrong only if your morals are set up in such a way that it is wrong. Morals are a personal choice, often based on religion, but non-religious people have morals, just not based on religious beliefs. They could be exactly the same morals as someone who bases morality on religion, but for entirely different reasons. For example, premarital sex. Christians believe it is wrong because God says it is wrong. However, a person who completely rejects God and religion may also believe premarital sex is wrong because of the emotional, physical, and mental grief it may cause people who have sex in uncommitted relationships outside of marriage. This is why even non-Christians embrace marriage. They just get married by a Justice of the Peace, not a religious official. Religiously, depending on your religion, abortion may be wrong. Generally speaking, conservative Christians believe it is wrong, but I cannot speak for all religions, nor can I speak for all Christians. Some Christians believe it is wrong right up until their daugher tells them she's pregnant, then their opinion does a quick one-eighty. Politically, it's a mixed bag. Abortion is one of the most politically devisive issues in American politics. It often follows party lines, but not always. Philosophically, like morally and religiously, it depends on your personal beliefs. So to answer your question "Why is abortion morally, religiously, politically, and philosophically wrong?", we would have to say that in the current moral, religious, political, and philosophical climate of the world, it is only wrong because you believe for all of your own reasons it is wrong.

It all depends one could look at it

my personal view is that it is murder for the fetus is a living creature in early development but still one by all means in "human" ways the creature might not remember its thoughts or dreams from that moment but who is to say they do not have them when the action of abortion is taking place the fetus does not stay still as it would have no life no thought or spirit on the other hand it moves around as any one would when something is about to hurt us because it knows that thing coming is going to kill me end my existence so it does move

as in the case of otherkins being that our thoughts are that our spirit once the mortal coverings that is this body dies and is no more our spirit and thoughts move on to the next as we continue our paths to our truths then that spirit and conciseness stays active making a choice that what body we will be born in next then how could it be argued that the parents have a choice to the existence of said spirit so its wrong and murder when one kills another then why not when a parent kills the host to said spirit

Then their is the other side where it is the choice of the female with the baby in her womb their could be reasons to end that life in murder

But being there is many ways to prevent getting pregnant and it’s only to the stupidity of those that did not prepare to have sex and face the responsibilities of their actions

I am sorry to my friends and those that care for what I think but this is the way I think oh well

Abortion saves 12 loved and wanted children for each fetus that is allowed to pass. That makes abortion moral and pro life immoral. God invented abortion and uses it every day in the form of miscarriage and natural abortion. So religiously speaking it is right to abort. Politically, those that are pro life cause the death of 12 children for each fetus they "save". And it is legal which makes it politically acceptable. And philosophically abortion makes the most sense because it is the sane way to stop the most deaths.
So what is your proof otherwise?

Morally: Because it is killing something that has a potential to become a human being.

Religiously: Many Christians believe that the fetus is a human life. Abortion kills the fetus. Murder is considered to be the taking of human life. The Bible says murder is wrong. Therefore, abortion is wrong by their standards.

Politically: The Constitution, in the preamble says that everything written in the Constitution is intended to "secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity". Our posterity are those not yet born. Therefore depriving those not yet born of life can be viewed as a violation of the Constitution.

Philosophically: It removes responsibility for one's actions. If one makes certain decisions (sex), those actions have consequences (pregnancy). If you aren't willing to deal with he consequences of your actions, you shouldn't have made those actions. You can't just ask for a "re-do". That leads to a society that thinks that nothing they do can hurt others and that they can do whatever they want for fun.

These are just theories. I may or may not agree with some or all of them. I hope this answers your question.

Why do you ask a question full of judgment? You don't want an answer you want reinforcement of your views...If you don't believe in abortion don't get one...abortion is a sad situation...tell us what pro adoption activities you are active in...certainly someone so against abortion is active in adoption programs...and I'm sure you are against the death penalty and also against the war in Iraq right? You are also doing all you can to help unwed mothers right? Because if not you are just another hypocrite....

Morally wrong cause you are killing a innocent life that hasn't had a chance to even take it's first breath of life or grow up and see the real world.
Religiously, Politically and Philosophically, a woman and man was brought into this world to procreate. Not destroy an innocent life.

Abortion is NOT morally wrong unless you likewise believe that the crushing of a poisonous spider is immoral even though not crushing it would be threatening to a human life. A human fetus before the third trimester has a comparable level of functionality.

Abortion is only religiously wrong in Christianity. Judaism, for instance, deems a child alive only until it has taken its first breath outside of the mother's womb.

Abortion is NOT politically wrong because, as was so deftly put in the book Freakonomics, it may actually have vast beneficial effects on American society.

Abortion is only "philosophically wrong" according to some philosophies. This was a stupid question because there are many philosophies which advocate abortion.

Sez who? In my world it is a good thing. Abortion may not be the ideal method of birth control. However it is, and should be a way for people to have control over their lives. It is better to have sex education, and know the dangers of sexual intercourse than to be ignorant. It is better to use birth control, and not become pregnant. HOWEVER if a woman becomes pregnant and can not safely raise a child, it is better to abort the pregnancy than to bring another unwanted child into the world. If a woman is a victim of rape &/or incest, it is right for her to be able to choose to have an abortion than to raise her rapists' child. If a woman has a disease, and will pass it on genetically, it is better for her to have the option of aborting the pregnancy than to not have that option. Remember, one aborts a pregnancy, not a child.
