War stimulates economic activity as do natural disasters, so if you a thinking in terms of the business cycle the answer is yes. But it is economic growth that improves the livings standards of people, and war destroys resources, and productive capacity, so it is a big negative.

War definitely increases wages: many young men get called away from their regular civilian jobs and someone has to replace them. War definitely creates many new jobs: somebody has to produce guns, ammunition, tanks, jeeps, military airplanes, ships, and all kinds of other things.

it depends, sometimes yes, sometimes no.

WWII was a major reason why our economy got back on our feet. but then look at the iraq war we're currently in -- it's putting our country waist deep in debt.

It worked in WWII. But right now we are spending a ridiculous amount on it, that is slowly declining our economy. I would fire Bush If he was my banker.
