Now was this so difficult that you couldn't state it as such in your other question?

First of all 2 x 6 is still not enough lumber to do the job properly unless you plan doubling the rafters. At 20 foot OR MORE you'll need supports from the floor if nothing else.

GOOD I am...GOD I'm not, but I know stuff.

A 20 footer will work fine with a little cut off the rafter tail end. I would rethink the 2x6 and upgrade to a 2x8 for that pitch and span unless you have already gotten that approved by inspector. How you brace your homemade roof will determine wether 2x6 can be used or if you'll need 2x8.

If you are not in a snow load area 2x6's should work 16" o.c.
Your total length including overhang will be16'91/4". If you subtract 3/4" for 1/2 the thickness of a 2x8 ridge board it will be 16'81/2" your ridge to heal cut will be 15'71/8". Hope that answers your question. Call your local building dept. Give them the length of your ridge to heal cut. They will tell you if you can span 2x6 16" o.c. You may have to go to 2x8.

No, 2x6s will not span that distance. Prefabricated roof trusses are your best bet or you can install a large glu-lam beam to divide the span and go with 2x8 joists and 2x6 rafters with appropriate bracing. Trusses 2' on center is the simplest plan and should cost about $80 to $90 each.
