How can I play a crazy former pop star???

I'm in this play called Asylum, and I am going to play Tracy, who is a former pop star in a mental institution now. How should I portray a character like this?

first of all... great play... second of all... just look at britney spears! kidding... but it should probably be something where the world revolves around her and she is the ****... and maybe kinda ditzy... stereotypical yes... but would be funny
