I am aware of the similarity to Lolita(good book), so don't just talk about that. If that were not an issue, what do you think?

It's a bastardization of Lolita, which is a child who seduces men. Is that really what you want to call your daughter?

It would be good for someone of Latin or Hawaiian, or possibly Mexican origin. If you're Caucasian, though, then I would go with a name that doesn't sound so foreign.

Lalitha looks like "la-LITH-uh"

Lalita could be mispronounced "La LIT-uh"

if you want it pronounced la-LEE-tuh, how about Laleeta?

It's a pretty name, and it has a lovely meaning, but to my ear it sounds flimsy - too feminine. But it is certainly a viable choice with history behind it.
