The batteries are working O.K. now. He filled them with a Blue Liquid and let them set. He might have done something else but I'm not sure. Anyway, I was told by others they wouldn't last long. He assures me they will last because of the "Magic Treatment - Blue Liquid". I was charged a good penny! Does anyone know of this process? What is this blue liquid?

The lead plates on old batteries are partly dissolved. No blue liquid can help that. The liquid and a controlled high voltage charge can dissolve some of the sulfate deposit and make the batteries work better for a little while, but they won't last long.

Electric storage batteries are constructed to deteriorate as soon as you begin using them. The material migrates between the grids and eventually the batteries short out as the grids slough off the lead and and antimony which settles to the bottom of the battery.

A short term fix is to remove or disolve the accumulation. There is no treatment that can restore the lead/antimony to the grids, so no magic blue liquid can possibly have a lasting effect.

Battery construction is pretty basic stuff.
